After graduating from Carroll Senior High School in 2018, Jordan Fleming immediately joined the Savannah College of Art and Design with the hopes of becoming a professional animator. Last weekend, her dream was realized when she debuted her first animated film at the university’s AnimationFest.
Inspired by the words of Walt Disney and Dreamworks, Jordan has always been drawn to art, creating her own works and illustrations throughout her childhood. But with an incredible team of 83 student animators, Jordan’s art came alive in her debut science-fiction fantasy film “Hex Limit.”
"From the first concept of the story to the final version of our film, I was there for it all, encouraging my team as we created something wonderful,” Jordan says. “Through SCAD Animation Studios, we are given the resources and encouragement to operate as a traditional animation studio, mimicking a real-life industry experience.”
“Hex Limit” tells the story of a witch who races through a cyber-fantasy city for the title of champion. After its debut at SCAD, Jordan says the film will be submitted to even more festivals for awards consideration.
“This opportunity makes me feel confident and ready to immerse myself in the industry,” Jordan says. I am extremely excited to show our project to the world.”
