The American Heart Association’s 2022 Cotes Du Coeur campaign will be co-chaired by Southlake residents Joe and Patti Brayton, according to a media release.
The founder and board member of Paragon Healthcare, Joe and his wife Patti will be focused on advocating for heart health for members of the community, with a specific focus on bystander CPR and raising funds for the work of the association. One of the ways it aims to do that is through the 31st annual Cotes du Coeur, a fine wine and celebrity chef dining experience that will take place at the Omni Dallas Hotel next year.
“Our vision is to expand the mission of the traditional Cotes du Coeur to move beyond the gala table by focusing on the lifesaving impact of bystander CPR,” Patti says in a media release. “Receiving CPR from a bystander can double or triple the chance of surviving a cardiac arrest. However, the neighborhood in which a cardiac arrest occurs can impact whether you receive CPR from a bystander.”
In addition to their chair appointments, the Braytons are also providing the Boys and Girls Club in North Texas with eight CPR and first aid training kits through Paragon Healthcare. These kits will help train more than 6,000 youth and their families in lifesaving CPR. The Braytons aim to raise $5.5 million through the campaign, according to the media release.
“We are excited to work with the American Heart Association to help bring widespread bystander CPR access and training to communities across North Texas,” Patti says via media release.
