Southlake resident Tristan Paskvan continues to build his impressive musical resume.
The 15-year-old fiddler recently claimed his second straight Youth Grand Master Fiddler Championship, earning the 2025 title at the prestigious competition in Franklin, Tennessee.
The win cements Tristan as one of the country’s top young fiddlers, and adds another milestone to a journey that began right here in Southlake. Classically trained, Tristan first drew national attention in 2020 when he won his division in the inaugural National Online Fiddle Contest. Since then, he’s continued to carve out a name for himself on some of the biggest stages in fiddle music.
This year’s Grand Master Fiddler Championship brought contestants from 15 states and two Canadian provinces. Tristan rose to the top, earning a championship plaque, a cash award and a return invitation to perform at the Grand Ole Opry in 2026.
Tristan's success builds on a strong musical foundation at home. His older brother, Thomas, is an accomplished fiddler in his own right, having won the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo Fiddle Showdown twice.
