Southlake's Thomas Paskvan, center, won first prize at the Fiddler Championships at the 2025 Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo.
Play it again, Thomas.
Southlake resident Thomas Paskvan, 17, won his second straight Fiddle Showdown at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo Jan. 26, walking away with a $2,500 scholarship for his first year of college and free admission to a master class at the Texas Fiddle Clinic.
Paskvan isn't the only fiddler in his family: his younger brother, Tristan, also plays. Tristan competed in the first-ever National Online Fiddle Contest back in 2020 and earned first place in his category. Both fiddlers are classically trained.
Thomas Paskvan has been playing the fiddle since he was eight years old. He's currently a member of the Carroll High School varsity swim team and plays guitar in the Carroll Jazz Band.
