Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau
It's that time of year again. Historic Main Street closes to traffic, wine glasses start clinking, and, for four days, Grapevine gives itself over to a celebration unlike any other in North Texas. There’s live music and carnival rides, artisan shopping, and food — plus the inevitable question of whether you really need one more pour.
This year, there's even more to celebrate as GrapeFest turns 40.
In a region where festivals often come and go, GrapeFest has become a North Texas tradition. What began in 1987 as a one-day event featuring six Texas wineries has evolved into the largest wine festival in the Southwest, drawing approximately 250,000 visitors annually while helping transform Historic Main Street into the thriving destination it is today.
Along the way, the festival has championed Texas wineries, introduced visitors to wines from around the world and created memories for families who return year after year. This year's theme, "Connecting Wine Traditions, One Glass at a Time," reflects both the festival's local roots and growing international reach.
Guests can sample Texas vintages during the People's Choice Wine Tasting Classic, explore selections from Grapevine's Sister Cities and revisit the legendary Judgement of Paris through a special tasting featuring French and Napa Valley wines. Beyond the wineries, visitors can enjoy live entertainment, artisan vendors, the fan-favorite GrapeStomp, Champagne Terrace, carnival rides, and family-friendly attractions.
Forty years after its humble beginnings, GrapeFest remains more than a wine festival. It's a celebration of the community that built it, the traditions that have sustained it and the visitors who continue returning to raise a glass together.
