Southlake Carroll has extended its lead in the UIL 6A Lone Star Cup standings, securing first place with 128 points in the third update released May 22.
The Dragons maintain a significant 27-point advantage over tied second-place finishers Austin Westlake and Conroe The Woodlands (101 points), following successful accumulation across fall, winter, and spring athletic and academic events.
Carroll's surge to the top of the standings is fueled by an exceptional spring across multiple disciplines. Notably, the Dragon soccer programs came up massive, securing 12 points from the girls' team and 8 points from the boys' team. On the links, girls' golf added 8 points to the tally.
These spring successes perfectly complement the foundation laid during the fall, which featured a dominant 10-point performance from the boys' state-champion cross country team and 16 points from the state champion volleyball team.
Looking ahead, the race for the prestigious Lone Star Cup moves into its final stretch. The fourth official standings update is scheduled for June 12 and will incorporate the final points from the baseball and softball postseason runs. All tabulations will be officially verified and maintained by the University Interscholastic League (UIL), with the final standings set to become official on July 1 on the UIL website.
