The Carroll Bass Fishing team made waves on the national stage as students Joshua Adams and Dakota Morris competed in the 2025 National Bassmaster Championships in Georgia
Facing off against more than 250 anglers from across the country, the duo impressed with a solid performance in their first-ever appearance at the prestigious tournament.
Adams and Morris secured a combined total catch weight of 15 pounds and 12 ounces, earning them a 75th place finish. This result put them comfortably in the top one-third of the field — a significant accomplishment for the pair and a promising sign for the future.
The duo qualified for nationals after a third-place finish at the state championships earlier this summer.
Adams and Morris notched the biggest catches at last year's Bass Nation Northeast Tournament, held in Pittsburg, Texas. At that tournament -- besides catching four basses weighing 18.89 pounds -- Adams caught a 8.59-pound black bass, which earned him a $550 check.
Both anglers are set to return for the 2025-26 season, bringing valuable experience and momentum back to the Carroll program.
