The Carroll ISD board of trustees unanimously approved creating a new deputy superintendent position for the district during its Monday meeting.
During the administrative services portion of the meeting, CISD Superintendent Dr. Lane Ledbetter brought the agenda item to the board, saying he’s previously communicated the need for an additional deputy superintendent position. According to the job description, the deputy superintendent will supervise, evaluate and develop campus leadership throughout the district in collaboration with the superintendent. They will serve as the district’s liaison for its strategic plan and as superintendent in Dr. Ledbetter’s absence.
The candidate will require a master’s degree and a valid Texas administrator’s certificate to apply, though a doctorate and superintendent certificate is preferred. They will also need to have previously served as a campus principal and ideally also as a central office administrator.
