Carroll ISD posted a 93 out of 100 in the latest state accountability ratings, giving the district another A — and the highest score among North Texas’ largest school districts.
The district earned a 93 out of 100 and an A rating in the Texas Education Agency’s 2026 A-F accountability ratings, released Aug. 14. The score placed Carroll at the top of a comparison of North Texas’ largest school districts published by The Dallas Morning News.
Carroll’s 93 edged out Wylie ISD at 92, while Frisco, Prosper, Rockwall, and Grapevine-Colleyville each scored 91. Allen ISD followed at 90.
The latest results also extend an impressive streak. Carroll has earned an A in every year the TEA has issued A-F accountability ratings, dating to the system’s implementation in 2018. Ratings were not issued in 2020 or 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, making this Carroll’s seventh consecutive A.
The district’s overall score was driven by a 95 in Student Achievement, while Carroll received an 85 in School Progress and 89 in Closing the Gaps. The TEA system evaluates districts in those three areas, measuring everything from student performance and graduation rates to academic growth and college, career and military readiness.
And the A wasn’t limited to the district level. Per Carroll ISD, all 11 Carroll ISD campuses also earned A ratings, highlighting the consistency of academic performance across the district.
For Southlake families, the numbers provide another snapshot of why Carroll remains one of the region’s top-performing school districts — and why the district’s academic standard continues to be one of its defining characteristics.
