Southlake Carroll has a new varsity basketball coach. Superintendent Dr. Led Ledbetter announced the hiring of David Markley during Monday night’s school board meeting.
Coach Markley previously coached at Chisholm Trail High School in Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD, according to MySouthlakeNews.com. He has also worked at Colleyville Heritage High School.
“Coach Markley is very passionate about coaching our Dragon athletes and helping them grow as young men,” Carroll Athletic Director Steve Keasler says to MySouthlakeNews.com. “He has proven to be a competitor and accepts challenges with a winning mentality. The longer I spoke to Coach Markley, the more certain I became that he was the right person to lead the boy’s basketball program.”
While at Chisholm Trail High School, Coach Markley led the team to playoff appearances in 2016-2018 and the 5-5A district championship in 2015 and 2016.
Students and parents will get the chance to meet Coach Markley on Thursday, May 6 from 6-8 p.m. at Carroll Senior High School’s Main Gym.
