Dawson Middle School has found its new principal just in time for the fall.
After former principal Ryan Wilson accepted the head principal position at Carroll Senior High School, Dawson Middle School was in need of a new principal to step in and lead it into the new school year. But on Monday, August 2, Carroll ISD gave it a new leader in assistant principal Stephen Langford.
"He is known for his relationship-building with students, parents and staff along with the Dragon culture," CISD Superintendent Dr. Lane Ledbetter says in MySouthlakeNews.com. "With Mr. Langford serving as our new principal, we know our ongoing pursuit of excellence will continue for every Dawson Dragon."
Serving Carroll ISD for the past 15 years, Stephen previously worked as a social studies teacher and coach before he became assistant principal in 2016. Stephen says he's honored and excited to serve Dawson as its new principal.
"Serving as an educator is more than just a job — it’s my passion," Stephen says in MySouthlakeNews.com. "Serving all children is at the core of helping our Dragons learn and grow. I am looking forward to this coming school year as we pursue the tradition of excellence together.”
