On Friday, Jan. 31, Carroll Robotics teams 7110A and 7110H will be competing to defend the 6A State Championship at the RECF - VEX UIL 6A Tournament at the Robotics Event Center in Clear Creek ISD. Last year, Dragon Team 7110-H took home the state championship trophy while Team 7110-A came in third.
In addition, at a recent competition held at Carroll High School, Team 7110A was a tournament finalist, winning the Innovate Award, while 7110H qualified for the regional championship with their season-high robot skills score. Next up, the teams will compete in February for a chance to advance to the VEX Robotics World Championship, which hosts the top 2-5% of teams from around the world to design, build and program their own robots and test them through a series of technical challenges. If the robotics team advances to VEX this year, it would mark the 11th consecutive showing for the Dragons.
