After a dominant showing at both the regional and state levels, Carroll ISD is officially heading to the world stage.
Seven teams — representing 48 students across Eubanks Intermediate, Rockenbaugh Elementary, Carroll Elementary, Durham Intermediate, Carroll Middle School, Carroll High School and Carroll Senior High School — have advanced to the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals, set for May 27–30 at Iowa State University.
The milestone follows an impressive run that began at the North Texas Regional Competition, where Carroll fielded 20 teams and 135 students. Sixteen teams advanced to the state tournament, with two earning the prestigious Ranatra Fusca Award — the program’s highest honor for creativity and risk-taking.
At the Texas State Finals in Houston, Carroll teams competed against 142 teams from across the state, ultimately securing seven spots at Worlds across four problem categories and all three age divisions.
Odyssey of the Mind is an international creative problem-solving competition in which teams of up to seven students develop original solutions over several months. From engineering builds to theatrical performances, each solution reflects months of collaboration, innovation and persistence.
Now, Carroll’s top teams will take that work global, competing against more than 700 teams from over 25 countries — and representing Southlake on one of the program’s biggest stages.
