Carroll ISD announced on March 27 that it will be extending its emergency closure until April 17. The first CISD announcement started the school district would be closed until March 27. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott extended that to April 3 after announcing a public health disaster on March 19.
“Together, we believe we can slow down the virus and make a difference for our health care system,” CISD Superintendent Dr. David Faltys shares in a letter to CISD families.
Students have not been in the classroom since before spring break, but they have been practicing at-home learning since March 23. Online learning and meal delivery will continue.
“We are doing everything we can to provide meaningful online learning activities and counseling resources to ensure continuity of services for our students. Our employees in the technology and food service departments have been nothing short of heroic in their efforts to make sure students are connected and well fed,” Dr. Faltys shares in the letter. "The pictures and posts being shared online tell a story of a community that is resilient in the face of adversity and committed to helping those in need.”
