Carroll ISD teams delivered an impressive performance at the Texas Odyssey of the Mind State Finals, held March 29 at San Jacinto College in Houston.
Thirteen teams, comprising ninety CISD students from elementary school through high school, showcased their creativity, teamwork and problem-solving abilities. Five teams earned top marks and the opportunity to compete at the World Finals.
"This group of amazing kids swept all four phases: wood structural engineering, artistic presentation quality, performance theater and spontaneous Q and A's," said Jim Pang, who coaches the group of 8th graders from CMS and DMS. "[I'm] proud of these kids' dedication and pursuit of well-rounded excellence. We've got swim champs, lacrosse and baseball champs, mathletes and wind ensemble musicians [who have] come together and leveraged their individual talents to succeed as a team."
The winning teams are now preparing for the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals, scheduled for May 21-24 at Michigan State University.
