
A group of young Dragons represented Southlake Carroll with pride during the National Junior Water Polo Olympics earlier this month.
On August 1, over 50 teams met at the Westside Aquatics Center in Lewisville to compete for top honors at the USA Water Polo’s National Junior Olympics. Carroll Dragons played for Thunder Water Polo, and they ended up placing in the top 10 for six divisions at the championship.
Thunder Water Polo finished eighth in the 12 and under division, fourth in the 14 and under division, sixth in the 16 and under boys division and fifth in the 18 and under girls division, according to the competition results. Thunder Water Polo also finished second in the 14 and 16 and under girls divisions.
"We are so proud of our Thunder teams that represented the very best of Texas water polo,” Thunder President Kristy Winkler says. “Our players represented with athleticism and sportsmanship and are the best of the best in this sport.”
