A Eubanks Intermediate School staffer tested positive for COVID-19 after working on the campus earlier in the week.
According to a district media release, the staffer woke up with a fever on Thursday morning and later tested positive that same day. The last time the employee was on campus was Wednesday, August 5. The Tarrant County Health Department was notified and recommended five staff members quarantine for 14 days in addition to the infected employee.
While the school did host gifted and talented testing and a drive-thru yearbook event on campus, neither the employee nor the area he was working in was involved in either event. That part of the campus is temporarily closed and going through deep cleaning and disinfecting.
