Carroll ISD
Fall football is officially upon us, and with it comes the return of Homecoming. Between parades, pep rallies and the crowning of the Homecoming court, the week brings all kinds of fun for both the district and the community at large. If you’re looking to get a head start on celebrating, here are five things to know about Southlake Carroll’s Homecoming 2024.
1. The Homecoming Dance Is Sept. 21
Homecoming week begins with the high school dance, which takes place on Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Gaylord Texan Hotel. With students in the heat of preparing their proposals and outfits, there’s little doubt that Dragon Nation is looking forward to the many festivities that the Homecoming dance will bring.
2. Gameday Mums Are Available At Dragon Den
Crafted by the Rockwall-based company Gameday Mums, these cherished Homecoming staples will take over the city with its vibrant ribbons and ringing bells. While custom orders are sold out, freshman and mini-mums are still available at the Carroll Athletic Booster Club Dragon Den.
3. There Will Be A Community Pep Rally
The Homecoming celebrations continue with a carnival and pep rally scheduled for 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25 in Southlake Town Square. With a variety of booths, vendors, games and activities, families will have loads of fun supporting the Dragons and the community that they love.
4. The Parade Will Kick Off Immediately After
Once the fun dies down, get ready for the parade to march around town square at 6:30 p.m. With this year’s theme being “Time Travel To The Best Place Ever,” the parade will feature all sorts of Carroll ISD programs, including Dragon Band, the Lady Cheerleaders and the Emerald Belles.
5. The Dragons Face Off Against The Falcons
After a whole week of hometown revelry, Homecoming concludes on Friday, Sept. 27 during the Dragons’ home game against the Keller Timber Creek Falcons. With both teams undefeated so far in their first three games of the season, this upcoming matchup will see whether the Dragons or the Falcons maintain their competitive edge.
