Four Carroll Dragons wrote their own plays earlier this year — and two of them will have theirs read for the High School Playwriting Project next week.
Every year, Circle Theatre hosts a playwriting project to benefit local student playwrights. This year, four Carroll students made it into the top 10, including juniors Rylee Hunt, Connor Musier and Sohani Ramnani and senior Adam Szkudlarek. Connor and Sohani’s script, “Ronald Ronald And The World-Wide Spoon Shortage,” was named a semifinalist and earned them a stipend, a trophy and theater tickets around the Metroplex, according to a media release. Meanwhile, Rylee and Adam’s play “Magic And Monsters” were one of four finalists, and their play will be read by professional actors during the final reading series next weekend.
The final reading will take place at 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 26 at Texas Wesleyan University, according to a media release. Tickets are free and food can be ordered from Pepe’s Taqueria.
