Four Carroll Independent School District campuses will have new leaders once the 2025-26 school year begins.
Principals were announced for Carroll Senior, Carroll High, Carroll Middle and Johnson Elementary School, and an assistant principal for Carroll Middle on June 2 in a release from CISD amid a slew of recent personnel moves in the district.
Shatina Lewis was appointed principal of Carroll Senior, effective July 1. Lewis previous served as Carroll Middle's principal for three years, Dawson Middle assistant principal for four years, and an English teacher and basketball coach at Carroll Senior before that.
"Returning to Carroll Senior High School as principal is deeply meaningful," Lewis said in the release. "This campus shaped me as a teacher and leader, and I’m honored to serve the students, staff, and families who make it so special. I’m excited to build on our tradition of excellence while helping our students grow into confident, compassionate leaders."
Patrick Holladay was named principal of Carroll High after serving in the same role at Johnson Elementary. Holladay has more than 25 years of education experience and has also taught at Richland High, Newman Smith High, DeSoto High and more.
"This opportunity to return to the secondary level within such a high-performing district is incredibly meaningful," Holladay said in the release. "I look forward to building on the legacy of excellence that defines Dragon Nation."
Stepping into the role vacated by Lewis, Stephanie Martin will be the new principal of Carroll Middle. Martin has more than 20 years of education experience and just finished her first year in Carroll ISD as Carroll Middle's assistant principal.
"This has been the best year of my career," Martin said in the release. "The close-knit community, supportive families, devoted teachers, and incredible students make Carroll such a great place to be. I am so proud and honored to be able to continue the tradition of excellence at Carroll Middle School."
To fill the void at assistant principal at Carroll Middle, Martin selected Austin Robinson, a social studies teacher at Dawson Middle, to succeed her as assistant principal. Robinson taught at Dawson for five years.
Finally, Nicole Williams was named principal of Johnson Elementary after serving as the campus' assistant principal since 2018. Williams joined Carroll ISD in 2016 as a sixth-grade Language Arts teacher at Eubanks Intermediate.
"Johnson Elementary is my home, and I am truly humbled, honored, and thankful for the opportunity to serve our students, families, and staff in this capacity," Williams said in the release. "I am beyond excited to continue the tradition of excellence at Johnson Elementary."
In a post-board meeting letter, CISD Board President Cam Bryan said the district has been "intentionally developing a strong bench of talent within our district leaders who understand our culture, our values, and our expectations."
"We are proud of the people we have been developing and confident in our ability to move forward with capable, passionate, and visionary individuals ready to step into these roles," Bryan said.
