Ryan Wilson is moving from Dawson Middle School to Carroll Senior High School to act as its new principal this fall.
Last month, Shawn Duhon left the position to accept a principal position at Keller ISD's Timber Creek High School. After careful consideration, Carroll ISD appointed Ryan Wilson to serve as principal in his place after acting as Dawson Middle School's principal for 13 years.
“We are excited Ryan Wilson will serve as our Carroll Senior High School principal," superintendent Dr. Lane Ledbetter says in MySouthlakeNews.com. "He is a respected school leader who knows our Dragons, our parents and our community."
Ryan has worked in education for 22 years, with 19 of those years being at Carroll ISD, according to MySouthlakeNews.com. His first job was as a middle school teacher in Lewisville ISD before moving to teach at Dawson Middle School. He then served as assistant principal for three years before becoming its head principal in 2008.
“I am both humbled and honored to be appointed as the next principal at Carroll Senior High School," Ryan says in MySouthlakeNews.com. "My 19 years in the district has instilled in me a tremendous desire to care for each and every Dragon student who walks our CISD hallways. It’s an exciting opportunity for me to be in service to the staff and students as they finish their public school journey.”
Ryan will begin serving as head principal effective immediately. The district hopes to name Ryan's replacement for Dawson Middle School by August.
