The countdown is officially on. Universal Kids Resort in Frisco will open July 1, bringing a brand-new kind of theme park experience to North Texas — and one designed especially for younger adventurers.
Set across 20 colorful acres, Universal Kids Resort swaps mega-thrill coasters for immersive, kid-sized fun centered around some of entertainment’s most beloved characters. Families will step into seven themed lands inspired by Shrek, Jurassic World, SpongeBob SquarePants, Minions, Trolls, Puss in Boots, and Gabby’s Dollhouse, complete with rides, splash zones, interactive play areas, and live entertainment.
The excitement doesn’t stop at the park gates. A 300-room on-site hotel will offer themed stays just steps from the action, making overnight “kidcations” easy for North Texas families and visiting guests alike. Tickets, vacation packages and annual passes are already on sale as anticipation builds toward opening day.
For Southlake families looking to trade highway road trips for a quick North Texas escape, July 1 may be the most magical date on the summer calendar.
