The postseason accolades continue to pour in for the Carroll Dragons football team.
Following a 2025 season that re-affirmed their status as a Texas high school football titan, the Blue Bell/Texas Sports Writers Association (TSWA) has released its Class 6A All-State team, and the Dragons are heavily represented across the board.
The Dragons' offense landed four players on the TSWA First Team. Senior quarterback Angelo Renda earned the First Team nod after a masterful season directing the Dragon attack. His primary target, senior wideout Brock Boyd, also secured First Team honors, capping off a career defined by highlight-reel catches.
Carroll's offensive line was equally recognized, with junior guard Tristan Dare and senior center Carey Clayton both earning First Team selections. Their dominance at the line of scrimmage provided the foundation for an offense that consistently overpowered opponents.
The honors didn't stop at the top tier, with Carroll's depth reflected in the Honorable Mention category:
Offense: Junior wide receiver Blake Gunter was named an Honorable Mention, proving the Dragons had threats across the entire field.
Defense: Senior defensive lineman Crawford Taylor earned recognition for his relentless pressure and leadership on the defensive front.
These individual awards are the byproduct of a dominant 14–1 season. The Dragons marched through District 4-6A with a perfect 8–0 record, outscoring district opponents by an average of over 30 points per game.
While the season concluded in a hard-fought battle in the state semifinals against eventual-champion DeSoto—whose star running back SaRod Baker took home Offensive Player of the Year—the Dragons’ 2025 campaign will be remembered for its statistical brilliance. The offense averaged 45 points per game, while the defense, led by Taylor and a disciplined secondary, remained one of the stingiest units in the state.
