Southlake Carroll Varsity Girl's Varsity in non-district action versus Colleyville Heritage. Southlake won 3-0.
The Southlake Carroll Lady Dragons (20-4, 5-2 in district) are making their mark not only in District 4-6A but also across Dallas-Fort Worth. Several Carroll athletes are keeping pace with some of the state’s top volleyball talent from Byron Nelson and Keller.
Junior outside hitter Layla Austin leads the Carroll offense with 271 kills, ranking 15th in DFW. In District 4-6A, she sits 3rd overall, behind Byron Nelson’s powerhouse outside Skylar Fields (308 kills) and Keller’s go-to scorer Ava Simmons (289 kills). Austin also ranks 4th in the district in digs with 283 (20th in DFW), trailing only Keller libero Addison Wilcox (388).
At the net, senior middle blocker Kinsley Young has been dominant. Her 71 blocks are 4th in all of DFW and make her the No. 1 blocker in District 4-6A, ahead of Keller Timber Creek’s Cailin Jones (65). Young’s 1.1 blocks per set set the defensive tone for Carroll.
On the back row, senior libero Lauren St. Charles is anchoring the Lady Dragons with 324 digs, good for 16th in DFW. She sits 3rd in the district, behind Keller’s Addison Wilcox (388) and Byron Nelson libero Maya Torres (347). St. Charles’ 5.4 digs per set rank among the top 10 across the Metroplex.
Running the offense, setter Emma Eyster has recorded 392 assists, which is 17th in DFW. In the district, she’s 4th, behind Byron Nelson’s Emily Moreno (445), Keller’s Sophie Daniels (428), and Eaton’s Madison Taylor (414). Eyster’s 5.9 assists per set have kept Carroll balanced and efficient.
Elsewhere in District 4-6A, Justin Northwest’s Levariya Pinder leads the entire Metroplex with 5.4 kills per set, while Byron Nelson and Keller continue to stock the leaderboards in nearly every category.
With Carroll players stacking up against some of the top names in Texas volleyball, the Lady Dragons look primed to battle their district rivals all season long.
