The Carroll Dragons soccer program celebrated an extraordinary season as both the boys and girls teams captured district championships, showcasing depth, talent, and leadership across the board.
On the boys side, a senior core led the team with standout performances from Jad Shehadeh, who tallied 21 goals, five assists and 47 points. Juniors John Skiermont and Drew Stitzel added 18 goals/39 points and 10 goals/27 points, while seniors Cole Swett and Hyoungju Kim contributed key goals and assists. The Dallas Morning News ranks the Carroll boys as the top area team in Class 6A. Every player, from Josh Dyer to Andrew Scrogham, played a role in building the team’s winning culture.
The girls team matched this dominance, finishing district play 18-0-1 with a staggering 22-0-1 overall record, including 12 home wins and 10 road victories. They've dominated in district, winning to the tune of 5-0 over Northwest Eaton, 8-0 at Justin Northwest, 6-0 versus Hurst L.D. Bell, and 5-0 at Keller Central. Payton Hayes led the team in goals with 33, good for fifth in the area, per The Dallas Morning News.
