USA Baseball is looking for new players to join its team, and CISD’s head baseball coach Larry Vucan will be helping with its search this summer.
After taking the Dragons to the regional finals this past season, coach Vucan will be taking on a new venture with USA Baseball later this month. According to Dragon Baseball, coach Vucan will be joining USA Baseball’s 15U task force to assist in its search for new players. Coach Vucan says he was approached by a member of the organization after the Dragons wrapped up their season last week.
“I didn’t really go out and seek this,” coach Vucan says. “It just sort of came my way.”
As a member of the task force, coach Vucan will evaluate and assess players and provide recommendations to the organization for potential new recruits. Coach Vucan says it’s an honor to have been selected to assist USA Baseball and he can’t wait to represent his country in any small way he can.
“I’ve wanted to be part of this for a long time,” coach Vucan says. “I thought being a part of Team USA was beyond my grasp. To represent your country and help lead a team out to competition is the greatest honor there is.”
