Young played a pivotal role in the state final, delivering 22 kills, four aces, one solo block and three block assists in a thrilling 3–2 win over Austin High. Her dominance at the net and steady play throughout the season earned her a second-team AVCA All-American selection as well as recognition as the championship match MVP.
Senior outside hitter Layla Austin earned a spot on the first team, continuing a season of consistent excellence. The San Diego State signee led the Dragons with 514 kills and 506 digs while adding 30 aces. Austin’s two-way performance shone in the state final, contributing 17 kills and 17 digs in the five-set victory over Austin High. She was also a first-team MaxPreps All-American.
Joining them on the all-area team was senior Emma Eyster, a setter who helped orchestrate Carroll’s potent offense.
