Southlake Carroll continues to dominate as 11 athletes have been nominated as part of 'USA Today’s' Sports Awards.
In addition to individual nominations, the boys cross country and soccer teams were nominated for Boys Team of the Year and the girls cross country team was nominated for Girls Team of the Year.
Awards for which nominees have not been selected yet include Girls Athlete of the Year, Boys Athlete of the Year, Courage Award, Top Team: Fan Vote Award, Girls Special Olympics Athlete of the Year, Boys Special Olympics Athlete of the Year, Boys Coach of the Year, Comeback Player of the Year and Girls Coach of the Year — so Southlake Carroll still has more chances to be nominated.
From football to cross country, six sports featured Carroll nominees. The awards show for the Sports Awards will take place on June 18 at 6 p.m. online, with a variety of professional athletes as hosts.
