Two former Carroll Dragon football stars heard their names called Saturday at the 2025 NFL Draft.
Quinn Ewers, who graduated from Carroll in 2021, was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the seventh round. R.J. Mickens, a 2020 Carroll grad, was chosen by the Los Angeles Chargers.
Ewers was the final quarterback taken in this year's draft, at pick No. 231. A total of 13 quarterbacks were drafted, including the No. 1 overall pick, Cam Ward, by the Tennessee Titans.
Mickens, a safety, was a sixth-round pick by the Chargers at No. 214 overall. Los Angeles had a bushel of picks in this year's draft and used their eighth selection of the weekend on Mickens.
