With the football season right around the corner, Southlake Carroll has named its captains for 2021.
Juniors Kaden Anderson and Owen Allen and seniors Benecio Porras, Travis Keener, Josh Spaeth and Landon Samson were all named team captains for the upcoming season. Anderson, Allen and Samson are all on offense, while Keener, Porras and Spaeth play defense.
Anderson takes the field this fall as the Dragons' new quarterback. Allen rushed for 2,063 yards and 28 touchdowns last season, while Samson caught 75 passes for 1,293 yards and 15 touchdowns. On the defensive side, through the game against Duncanville, Porras recorded 101 tackles while Keener made 31 tackles and two sacks. Spaeth, meanwhile, made two interceptions and a defensive touchdown.
