The Carroll cross country season is officially rolling, and after the opening meets of August, the Dragons have a busy stretch ahead.
With the goal of making another deep postseason run, Carroll’s 2026 schedule features plenty of familiar North Texas competition, a pair of big out-of-state opportunities, and, eventually, the biggest meets of the season.
Here are the dates to circle:
Aug. 29 — Southlake Carroll XC 2-Mile Bob Jones Park | Southlake
The next opportunity to see the Dragons comes Saturday at home. The Southlake Carroll XC 2-Mile will feature the varsity and JV teams at Bob Jones Park.
Sept. 5 — Coach T Invitational North Lakes Park | Denton
The schedule moves to Denton for the Coach T Invitational, another early-season test for both the varsity and JV squads.
Sept. 17 — Braswell Invitational North Lakes Park | Denton
Carroll returns to North Lakes Park for the Braswell Invitational as the season begins to pick up steam.
Sept. 19 — Woodbridge XC Invite Orange County Great Park | Irvine, California
Just two days after the Braswell Invite, Carroll will send its top seven boys and top seven girls to California for one of the biggest trips on the schedule.
Sept. 26 — Byron Nelson XC Invite Gene Pike Middle School | Northlake
The Dragons return home to North Texas for the Byron Nelson XC Invite before heading into the final stretch of the regular season.
Oct. 1 — The Reunion Run Joe Wheeler Park | Decatur Select
Carroll runners and JV squads will compete in The Reunion Run in Decatur.
Oct. 3 — Chile Pepper Festival University of Arkansas | Fayetteville, Arkansas
Another major road trip awaits as Carroll’s boys and girls head to Arkansas for the elite Chile Pepper Festival.
Oct. 15 — District 4-6A Meet Bob Jones Park | Southlake
The stakes get considerably higher. Carroll hosts the District 4-6A Meet at Bob Jones Park with the postseason officially underway.
Oct. 26 — Region 1-6A Championships Mae Simmons Park | Lubbock
The regional championship is next, with Carroll looking to qualify its top runners for the state meet.
Nov. 6 — UIL 6A State Championships Old Settlers Park | Round Rock
The ultimate state test in Round Rock as the Class 6A state championships bring together the state's best teams and runners.
Nov. 22 — Nike South Regional Dale Watts XC Course | College Station
For Carroll runners continuing beyond the UIL postseason, the Nike South Regional provides another major opportunity, with the top 20 boys and top 20 girls scheduled to compete.
