Every football season ends with a bittersweet goodbye with several seniors dawning their green jerseys for the last time.
This year is no different, with 44 total seniors on the varsity football team graduating. We’re gonna miss all of them, so to celebrate the milestone they’re about to achieve, here is just a splice of the Dragon football seniors who made a big impact this season.

Brady Boyd
A wrist injury sustained after the first game of the season didn’t stop senior Brady Boyd from putting up big numbers this year. The wide receiver kicked off his season by catching nine passes for 211 yards and three touchdowns. Following his return, Boyd pressed on. In the last three games of the regular season, Boyd caught 13 passes for 205 yards and four touchdowns. Boyd was also a crucial part of the Dragons’ playoff run. In the five playoff games the Dragons played, Boyd caught 40 total passes for 665 yards and 10 touchdowns. The senior committed to Minnesota and is working toward an NFL career.

Hunter Holden
When junior quarterback Quinn Ewers was out with an injury, senior Hunter Holden kept the Dragons on top. In his first game as starter, Holden threw for 140 yards and two touchdowns, leading Southlake Carroll to a 49-20 win over Keller Central. In total, the senior quarterback started in six games this season, throwing a total of 57 completions for 1,161 yards and 18 touchdowns. While Holden filled in for Ewers, he consistently led the Dragons to victory. Whether it was relieving Ewers during the beginning of the season or keeping the team together during the middle of the season, Holden’s talent helped the Dragons head to state.

Cinque Williams
In his first three games of the season, Williams made 26 tackles, one defensive touchdown, caused three fumbles, recovered a fumble and knocked down a pass. And those numbers just continued to rise. By the end of the season, Williams was flying high with 82 tackles, two sacks and an interception. A former Hawaii commit, Cinque Williams transferred to Southlake Carroll in 2019 and with only one year of varsity play under his belt, began fielding new offers from colleges and achieved three-star status from 247Sports.com. With offers from colleges like Houston Baptist, Sam Houston State and Lamar, Williams has yet to recommit.

Mason Grawe
On our “Seniors To Watch” list from before the season started, Mason Grawe stepped up and showed his talent this year. In his first game of the season, Grawe recorded nine tackles and was a steady presence on defense as the season went on. Recording at least four tackles in nearly every game he played, crucial interceptions, knocked down passes and caused fumbles contributed to keeping the Dragons on top week after week. There’s nothing like a sure and steady football player and Grawe definitely filled that role for the defense this season.

Joe McFadden
Another player also on our “Seniors To Watch” list, Joe McFadden’s skill and talent at place-kicking helped turn the tide in close games this season. The team’s second-highest scorer behind running back Owen Allen with 114 points, McFadden made an impressive 11 field goals and 81 PATs this season. His low number of field goals compared to his PATs is another hallmark of the Dragons’ exceptional defense — when the offense had the ball, it was more likely than not they would score a touchdown. While we’re gonna miss his presence on the field, McFadden is headed to bigger and better things. The senior is committed to the University of Connecticut.
