Following in the footsteps of the Dragon tennis team, both the girls and boys cross country teams took home the district title on October 29. The boys cross country team has officially won 11 straight district titles and this is the second consecutive district title for the girls cross country team, according to a press release.
“Our runners battled today,” head coach Justin Leonard says via press release. “With all of the rain this week, and the gusting winds today, the running conditions were less than ideal. But our young men and women focused on being their best, and it paid off with district titles. I couldn’t be prouder.”
Individually, runners Antonio Florcrus and Kaylie Cox won the individual titles for their respective teams.
Looking ahead, both the boys and girls cross country teams will head to Lubbock to compete at the Region 1 Championship meet on November 10.
