Southlake Carroll quarterback Quinn Ewers committed to play college ball at The University of Texas at Austin on August 14. The junior recently claimed national recognition, including earning a five-star recruit status, being named ESPN’s No. 1 Recruit, gaining the title of "generational prospect" from 247Sports and being named MaxPrep’s Sophomore of the Year.
During the 2019 season, Ewers led the Dragons to a 13-1 record and threw for 4,003 yards and 45 touchdowns, making him an underclassman to watch. He also only recorded three interceptions this season and completed 72% of his passes, according to MaxPreps.com. According to ESPN, Ewers will become the first No. 1 prospect to sign with the Longhorns in the 16 years that ESPN has ranked recruits.
