As the football season ends, awards season is just getting underway. And two Dragon football players are among those receiving accolades. Senior kicker Joe McFadden and sophomore running back Owen Allen were named to the 2020 MaxPreps All-State High School Football Team.
McFadden, who was the second-highest scorer on the team this year behind Allen, made 11 field goals and 81 PATs for a total of 114 points this season. He was named to the first team offense with MaxPreps noting, “The top-rated kicker in the state connected on 11-of-12 field goals and averaged over 41 yards per punt.”
Allen was named to the second team offense and MaxPreps noted that he “rushed for over 2,100 and 30 touchdowns and played a major role for the 6A Division 1 runners-up all season while some key players missed action with injuries.”
McFadden was also named to the 4-6A All-District First Team Offense and Allen was named the 4-6A All-District Most Valuable Player.
