After the UIL released its 2020-2021 district realignments, Southlake Carroll, which was in District 5-6A, is now in District 4-6A for the next two years. Denton Guyer has left this district, which means Southlake Carroll will not face them in regular season play during the next two years in football, basketball or volleyball.
In football, the rivalry between Denton Guyer and Southlake Carroll is a lopsided one, with the Dragons defeating them in 2018 and 2019 with a score of 33-29 and 46-34, respectively.
Some things will stay the same, however. Southlake Carroll will continue to face Keller, Keller Central and Fossil Ridge again this season. The Dragons, led by head coach Riley Dodge with district MVP and MaxPreps.com Sophomore of the Year Quinn Ewers, stormed past these teams, winning 56-14, 35-7 and 62-7, respectively.
Keller Timber Creek is also still on the list to face the Dragons, a team Southlake Carroll defeated 49-8 in their last regular season game of 2019. The Dragons are also set to face Northwest Eaton and Bryon Nelson again in the next two years, teams Southlake Carroll defeated in 2019 by 56-17 and 49-0, respectively.
