The 2020 World Series is set to have a little Southlake representation. Pitcher John Curtiss, a former Carroll Dragon, is part of the 40-man roster for the Tampa Bay Rays going into the World Series. On Tuesday, the Rays will face off against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the first game of the World Series at Globe Life Field in Arlington.
Curtiss joined the Rays this year after playing for their minor league teams, according to MLB.com. He started Game 5 in the American League Championship Series against the Astros, which ended in a 4-3 Rays loss.
During the 2020 regular season, Curtiss went 3-0 with a 1.80 ERA. Pitching in Game 5 was his first postseason start.
The Rays’ World Series chase begins on Tuesday as they take on the Dodgers at 7:11 p.m. on FOX.
