For Brady Boyd, the dream of playing in the NFL has become a daily reality — and a daily competition.
The former Carroll standout is in Jacksonville Jaguars training camp this summer after signing with the team as an undrafted free agent following the 2026 NFL Draft. Boyd reported to camp July 25 and is competing for a spot in a crowded Jacksonville receiving corps.
Boyd was one of the most productive receivers in Carroll history. As a senior in 2020, he caught 71 passes for 1,159 yards and 18 touchdowns, earning unanimous All-District 4-6A honors. As a junior, he added 66 catches for 969 yards and eight touchdowns, finishing his final two seasons with 137 receptions, 2,128 yards and 26 touchdowns.
Boyd originally attended Minnesota, before transferring to Texas Tech and, finally, Utah State. In 48 career games, he finished with 67 receptions for 934 yards and nine touchdowns. His best season came in 2025 at Utah State, where he caught 46 passes for 743 yards and eight touchdowns in 13 games, earning honorable mention All-Mountain West honors.
Now, Boyd is trying to carve out a place in a Jacksonville receiver room that includes Brian Thomas Jr., Parker Washington, and Jakobi Meyers, along with Travis Hunter, the Jaguars' first-round pick who is expected to play a significant role on offense. The competition is one reason Boyd's path to the 53-man roster won't be easy.
Still, Boyd has been a regular participant in camp, with Jaguars coverage documenting him on the practice field throughout the summer. He was also included on Jacksonville's first unofficial preseason depth chart with the presumed top four receivers..
His first chance to make his case in a game comes Saturday, when the Jaguars open the preseason against the New Orleans Saints.
