Travis Wilson
There are college football visits, and then there are college football entrances.
Luke Wilson, a longtime Oklahoma football commit and soon-to-be senior offensive lineman for the Carroll Dragons, experienced the latter on Friday, Jan. 30 when the Sooners brain trust came to see him at Carroll Senior High. Head coach Brent Venables, co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh and coach Brandon Hall arrived on campus by helicopter, turning an otherwise normal school day into a full-stop moment.
This wasn’t a recruiting trip — Wilson committed to Oklahoma before his junior season even began and has been firmly locked in as a Sooner for quite some time. Instead, the visit served as a high-profile check-in, underscoring just how invested Oklahoma remains in one of its longest-committed offensive line prospects.
It’s easy to understand the attention. Wilson, listed at 6'-6", 290-pounds with an 81" wingspan, has emerged as one of the top offensive line prospects in the area, combining size, strength and consistency with a steady presence up front. He won’t be doing it alone in the trenches, either, as the line includes Michigan-commit Tristan Dare.
The experience of Wilson and Dare will be crucial as Carroll turns the page following the 2025 season, with the Dragons set to graduate a significant amount of talent across the roster. With familiar faces moving on, the spotlight naturally shifts to the next wave — and up front, more responsibility will fall on Wilson and the offensive line.
