Southlake Carroll has won the 6A Lone Star Cup for the first time since 2019.
Given annually by the University Interscholastic League, the Lone Star Cup is awarded to the top school in each of the six classifications along with a $1,000 scholarship. Points are awarded based on team performances in district and state competitions.
Leading the race with every update this year, Southlake Carroll won the Lone Star Cup with 131 points earned throughout the 2021-2022 athletic season. The Dragons' five state championships in baseball, girls soccer, boys cross-country and boys and girls swim and dive helped carry them through to their sixth Lone Star Cup win since the 2011-2012 season. Conroe The Woodlands and Allen followed behind in second and third place with 113 and 91 points, respectively.
