Carroll track and field distance runner Reed Brown has been no stranger to success over the past two years, and just recently, he capped those successes off with being named Boys All-Area track and field athlete of the year.
The award comes as no surprise to a Dragon community that witnessed the upperclassman make Texas high school history in the 3200-meter back in May. Brown became the fastest to ever complete the race at the state championship meet, running the two miles in 8:52.34. The record remained unscathed since 1987, when Conroe McCullough's (now The Woodlands) Eric Henry broke it last.
