The Dragon Baseball team continues to rack up the accolades. After the Dragons won their fifth state championship last month, pitcher Griffin Herring was named “The Dallas Morning News’” Player of the Year and 4-6A Pitcher of the Year thanks to his stellar performance all season long. This comes after the senior, committed to Louisiana State University, was named to the 2022 MaxPreps All-America team.
Meanwhile, Owen Proksch, committed to Duke University, was named the newspaper’s 4-6A MVP. Also a senior, Owen was previously named the 4-6A District MVP and the MVP of the state championship game.
Other Dragon athletes who received recognition from “The Dallas Morning News” include Ethan Mendoza, Max Reyes, Tyson Drake and Clark Spring, who were named to the newspaper’s 4-6A First Team.
