The girls lacrosse team’s season has come to an end. The Lady Dragons earned second place at the state tournament after falling to Hockaday 14-11 in the state championship game.
“I am so incredibly proud of how far our team has come this year and how much we've grown together on and off the field. Our girls left every last bit of energy on the field on Sunday and we truly fought hard till the last whistle,” head coach Morgan McDonald says. “Our heart and hustle was real on Sunday. We played for each other! Of course, we're sad about the final result, but we're ready for the 2022 season to begin and to get to work!”
Following the end of the season, several of the Lady Dragons earned recognition. Four players — Sophie Patton, Logan Risenhoover, Kaileigh Wallace and Landry Risenhoover — were named to the Texas Girls High School Lacrosse League (TGHSLL) Division 1 All-State Team.
Lady Dragons Katelyn Sclafani, Brooke Jones and Ava Valdez also earned recognition, being named to the TGHSLL Division 1 All-District Team.
“The future of our Lady Dragon Lacrosse Program is very bright!” Morgan says. “We will miss our seniors so much. They truly left a legacy on our Lady Dragon Lacrosse Program, and we are so sad to see them go, but excited to cheer them on in their futures!”
