Griffin Herring Named To MaxPreps All-American Team

The senior was previously named the District 4-6A Pitcher of the Year.

The accolades keep coming for Dragon Baseball. Senior pitcher Griffin Herring, who is committed to Louisiana State University, was recently named to the 2022 MaxPreps All-America team. 

Helping lead the Dragons to their fifth overall state championship, MaxPreps noted that “Herring had a 13-1 record with a 0.24 ERA and 145 strikeouts in 87 innings. He was 6-0 with 71 strikeouts and a 0.19 ERA in the postseason.”

Head coach Larry Vucan also earned recognition after leading his team to state. He was one of 11 coaches named one of the American Baseball Coaches Association’s 2022 National Coaches of the Year. Vucan and his fellow coaches of the year will be honored at the 2023 ABCA Convention in Nashville on Jan. 6, 2023.
