UIL Representatives present the 2023-2024 UIL Lone Star Cup to CISD Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Glenn during halftime of the Dragons vs LD Bell game on October 25, 2024.
Southlake Carroll students and families celebrated an extra special Senior Night at Dragon Stadium on Friday, Oct. 25 during the regular season’s final home game against LD Bell. At halftime of the 73-7 victory over the Blue Raiders, representatives of the University Interscholastic League (UIL) presented Carroll ISD with the 2023-2024 UIL Lone Star Cup.
“The UIL Lone Star Cup rewards the best overall academic, athletic and music programs in the state of Texas,” said UIL Executive Director Dr. Charles Breithaupt. “To win, every student, teacher and coach across all areas of UIL competition must contribute. The winning schools and communities should be proud of this outstanding achievement.”
Back in June, Carroll ISD finished the school year in first place with 111 points earned based on Dragon athletics teams’ performances in district and state championships, besting runners-up Katy Seven Lakes (93 points) and Allen (90 points). The win marks the district’s ninth award in school history.
