Over 250 swim and dive teams competed at the 6A state meet last weekend — and Southlake Carroll finished in the Top 10 for both the boys and girls.
According to the state meet results, the girls finished second at the state meet with an overall score of 284 points. Hailey Heldenbrand, Marin Clem, Emma Bibza, Avery Hafele, Alexis Drap and Kate Heintz help score a first-place finish for the girls' 200 medley and 400 free relay, while Olivia Colombo helped contribute to a second-place 200 free relay finish. Meanwhile, the boys finished eighth in the contest, with Max Hatcher, Grant Bibza, Collin Woods, Winn Tyler, Jack Hernandez, Blake Bullard, Jack Hernandez and William Zhang helping the boys reach a sixth and seventh place finish in the 200 free and medley relay respectively.
In addition to their strong showings, several Dragon athletes received All-American honors as well. Marin Clem and Max Hatcher were named automatically, while Hailey Heldenbrand, Avery Hafele, Reagan Evans and Tatum Janning were all considerations.
Congratulations to these talented Dragons!
