Over the course of last weekend, the Dragon swim and dive teams dominated at the state competition. The boys swim and dive team placed fourth in state while the girls swim and dive team took third place.
When it came time for the girls to compete at state, they delivered. Diver Hailey Hernandez captured her fourth straight state championship title while Corbyn Cormack came in first place and set a new record during the 100 Yard Fly. Cormack was also awarded the title of 6A State Championship Swimmer of the Meet.
The swimmers behind the 200 Medley and the 400 Freestyle Relay also placed, with Southlake Carroll coming in second in both races, helping the girls swim and dive team place third overall at the state meet.
On the boys side, the Southlake Carroll swimmers who participated in the 200 Medley Relay came in seventh. Mason Edmund and Alex Zettle placed fourth and seventh, respectively, in the 200 Freestyle. For the boys divers, Manuel Borowski placed first while fellow Dragon Jackson Miller came in fifth.
Other swimmers who placed include Jackson Pogue who came in fifth in the 100 Fly, Andrew Zettle who came in seventh in the 100 Freestyle and the swimmers of the 400 Freestyle Relay who came in fourth.
With all their individual accomplishments, the boys swim and dive team captured fourth place at the state championship meet.
