After a monumental upset against Flower Mound on Feb. 17 in a 50-45 game, the Southlake Carroll girls basketball team’s season ended on Feb. 21 in their second playoff game against DeSoto.
DeSoto, ranked No. 2 in the state, only lost two games during the regular season and showed their dominance as they led 31-16 by halftime. Though the Lady Dragons scored more than 15 points in the second quarter, DeSoto continued to lead until the end.
Though the Lady Dragons lost to DeSoto 65-33, the team has plenty to be proud about. This season was the first time since 2015 the Lady Dragons won a playoff game and the girls finished with an impressive 25-11 record.
