The sixth annual Showcase in the Square takes place this Sunday, June 19, from 6 to 9 p.m., presented by the city of Southlake and Toll Brothers. The concert, taking place at Rustin Pavilion, is free and open to the public.
Crossmen World Class Drum and Bugle Corps headlines the show with brass, percussion, drumline and color guard musical performances, according to an article on MySouthlakeNews.
"Showcase in the Square will offer guests the ultimate Father’s Day experience," the article says. "In addition to featured performances by the Crossmen, the only Drum Corps International World Class Drum Corps in the state of Texas, spectators will also hear performances by two other musical groups: Genesis Drum and Bugle Corps and the Metro Praise Youth Orchestra. For the first time this year, Holy Frijole Bistro food truck will be serving Tex-Mex favorites at the event. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs for comfortable viewing during the concert, which is expected to attract 2,500-3,000 people in attendance this year."
The Crossmen, based out of San Antonio, are comprised of 150 members, ages 16-21. Fifty professional music educators also belong to the group.
"After kicking off this year’s tour in Southlake, the Crossmen’s tour will span nearly half of the country, reaching as far north as Massachusetts and as far south as Florida, offering the group’s young members the opportunity to share their passion for music with countless fans," the article says.
The event is sponsored by Allstate Insurance-Steve Ward Agency, ECHO Transportation, Hilton Southlake Town Square, Knockouts, Pet Butler, Pet Love, Waddell & Reed, and Roxann Taylor Engel & Volkers.
