An Altrusa DFW volunteer collects Red Bags full of food donations from neighborhoods in Southlake, Keller and Trophy Club!
Altrusa International of DFW, Inc. is once again uniting the community to fight food insecurity through its annual Holiday Hunger project, a tradition that has served Northeast Tarrant County families for over two decades.
This year, bright red donation bags will be distributed to neighborhoods in Southlake, Keller, and Trophy Club on December 6–7, 2025. Community members are encouraged to fill the bags with nonperishable food items to help stock the shelves of local social service agencies. Volunteers will return to collect the filled bags on Sunday, December 14, 2025 and bring them to Carroll Senior High School for sorting and delivery directly to the agencies that provide critical support to families in need.
“The Holiday Hunger project brings neighbors together for a common purpose,” said Barbara Bedwell, Altrusa DFW project chair.. “Every can, every box of food, and every dollar makes a difference for families who might otherwise struggle through the holidays.”
Altrusa DFW invites the public to participate by donating food through the red bag program or by contributing monetary gifts. Food donations may also be dropped off at Tom Thumb in Southlake
